The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1)The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A new angle from Rick as he looks at Egyptian mythology and two new young heroes as they battle both the evil god Set and a powerful magical order whilst trying to rescue their father. It turns out that Egyptian gods are also real and that sometimes they take over a human host to further their aims.

Not only do they have to come to terms with the potential death of their father but the fact that they can do magic. Who were their ancestors that made them such a powerful force? The action takes place in London, Paris, USA and Egypt as they race to prevent Set from destroying the USA?

Not as good as his Percy Jackson stories but still worth a read. I will try part 2 to see if improves!
